Assisted Living
We are designed for individuals needing light assistance with activities of daily living, as well as the security of having personnel on the premises to assist individuals in case of a medical problem.
The Assisted Living Apartments are a part of the Maplewood living experience. This two story assisted living apartment building has an elevator, ten studio apartments on each floor, for a total of twenty efficiency apartments. Each apartment is approximately 500 square feet, and is designed for occupancy by one individual. However, the apartments could house two individuals, in certain circumstances.
Each apartment has a large handicapped accessible bathroom, as well as a large walk-in closet. There is a small kitchenette in each apartment, consisting of a sink, refrigerator, and a microwave.
Each apartment’s bathroom and sleeping area has an emergency call system, which is monitored by Assisted Living staff. The call system is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Assisted Living Apartments are smoke-free. The use of all tobacco products is prohibited in the apartments or on the grounds.
The Assisted Living Apartments are geared towards low to moderate income individuals, with the following schedule of services available to residents of the assisted living apartments:
- Assistance with medication management.
- Hot meals are served in a communal dining room 3 times a day, 7 days a week, and snacks are available throughout the day.
- Housekeeping services in each apartment once a week.
- Laundry and linen service is available on a weekly basis, although there are washers and dryers available for residents to do their own laundry.
- A personal care assistant is available on the premises to assist residents with various activities.
- Residents of the assisted living apartments are welcome to participate in activities offered by Maplewood Nursing Home.
- Assistance arranging appointments and transportation.
- Weekly showering.
- Bed making.
- Daily observation.
Residents agree that life at Maplewood Assisted Living allows them to retain their independence, form valuable friendships, and live in a supportive, healthy environment.
Cheshire County residents who wish to be placed on a waiting list should contact us as soon as possible by calling 603 399-7348. Monthly charges for one person are $3,500.00 per month, double occupancy is $5,250.00 both of which includes all meals, laundry, maintenance, housekeeping, utilities, cable TV and medical and personal assistance. Additional charges for telephone service and pharmacy charges are the responsibility of the resident. These services are provided by outside companies and it is the responsibility of the resident to set up their own services. The Assisted Living Apartments at Maplewood is a certified Medicaid provider under the “Home and Community Based Care “(HCBC) Program.
We offer apartments for seniors with healthcare concerns but who do not require full time nursing care. If the situation changes, we are able to transition the individual over to Maplewood Nursing Home, which is the 150 bed full nursing care section of Maplewood, located in a separate wing of the same building.
Medicaid funding may be available to pay a portion of the monthly room and board charge for qualified individuals.
There is no obligation or cost involved with being on a waiting list for the Assisted Living Apartments, and interested individuals are encouraged to be on the waiting list, even if they do not have a firm date on which they wish to enter into an assisted living arrangement.
