Major Colby, Director of Inmate Programs
Major Colby has been with the Cheshire County Department of Corrections since April of 1998. Prior to becoming the Director of Inmate Programs, Major Colby served as a correctional officer.
As director of Inmate Programs, Major Colby is responsible for the supervision of inmate work release, electronic monitoring, correctional volunteer recruitment and training, inmate program development, procurement of inmate recreational equipment, facilitating inmate interviews with rehab programs, processing inmate furloughs and jail facility tours.
The department’s two community correctional officers offer enhanced supervision for those inmates on work release, electronic monitoring and community work programs. The department continues to utilize state of the art electronic monitoring equipment with GPS for this inmate management.
