GRANTS SPECIALIST

Cheshire County Grants Department has an immediate opening for a mid-level post-award grants specialist position to provide fiscal and contractual management of grants awarded to the County.  This will initially be a temporary position with the option to become regular full-time.

Key Responsibilities:  track grant financial activities, e.g. revenue and accounts receivable, expenses and accounts payable, and indirect costs by period and fiscal year using Excel and comparing to the County’s accounting system; approve and record expenditures, prepare check requests and journal entries; record in-kind time and other match expenses; track time and facilitate completed timesheets; update templates; submitting financial reports and drawdown requests; track payments; track deliverables, perform competitive procurement; monitor subcontractors and subrecipients; and thoroughly closeout grants.

Requirements:  four years grants management experience, four years accounting experience (or eight years combined experience); and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Grant Professional Certified (GPC) or Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) is preferred.  Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of Uniform Grants Guidance and Generally Accepting Accounting Principals also required.

Starting salary is $27.89/hour plus benefits.
