Under the general supervision of the Sheriff or designee, responsible for routine to complex work in connection with providing general facility security, jury security, court security, and prisoner control at the Cheshire County Court Complex by securing the safety of judges and courthouse personnel.  $84.94 half day or $169.84 full day

• Court Room security – inside/outside perimeter

• Assist with Grand/Petit Juries

• Security checks on public entering Courthouse

• Court Room security

• Escort prisoners to & from courtroom

• Search/Pat down prisoners

• Assist deputies with prisoner transports from Correctional Facility to Courthouse

• Security of prisoners while at court

• Handcuffing/Shackling prisoners

• Mandatory Weapon qualification & other classes as required

• Attend/Pass Courtroom Security Course

• Assist individuals with directions for visit

• Must be able to physically walk/stand for long periods of time, deal with incorrigible individuals, physically capable of assisting with prisoner restraint if necessary

• Must be able to look for and, if necessary, remove from persons, items they could use to harm the public/judges/courthouse employees/deputies/self

This is a per diem position.
