Activities Aide – Full Time

MUST HAVE A VALID NH LNA LICENSE

This position is a full time position of working 40 hours a week including every other weekend.

Schedule would be: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm  Thursdays 12:00pm – 8:00pm 

and every other weekend Saturday and Sunday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Starting pay is $18.97

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Activity Director, responsible for assisting the residents with recreational activities and nonprofessional services listed within the scope of their care plans.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Organizes and facilitates group programs, including bowling, movies, bingo, cooking, arts and crafts, holiday and special party groups, mini bus rides, shopping, luncheons, and musical and social functions in and outside the facility.
  • Adapts activities to Resident’s current abilities.
  • Implements individual activities for the residents, including letter writing, supportive social visits, board games, outdoor activities, individual projects, outside wheeling or walking, and one-on-one sensory and tactile awareness to meet the Activity Department 1 to 1 visit policy.
  • Implements the set up and clean up after each activity.
  • Maintains privacy, dignity, and confidentiality and ensures that resident rights are protected at all times.
  • Operates activity equipment, including bus, van and or county car for resident trips.
  • May assists residents in activities of daily living such as scheduled trips to the bathroom and feeding of meals.
  • Dependable, punctual attendance.
  • Assist in the care and treatment of facility pets.
  • Is aware of the appropriate chain of command
  • Ability to organize, supervise and direct others. Assume and delegate responsibility; accept advice and consultation

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Must possess a valid State of New Hampshire driver’s license.
  • Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Creativity and a friendly and personable manner.
  • Ability to regularly exercise discretion and make managerial decisions on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and goals.
  • LNA Certification required
