Donation Form Mission Statement

Over the past three years, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office has successfully incorporated its first dual purpose Patrol and Narcotics K-9, Crush, into operations. Sergeant Matt Sands and K-9 Crush began working together on March 24, 2023, and since that time have become an invaluable resource to the department and the community. Their success has demonstrated the significant impact a well-trained K-9 team can have on public safety.

Due to increasing demand for services, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to expand its K-9 program by adding an additional Labrador K-9 trained in search and rescue and narcotics detection. This expansion will allow us to respond more effectively to missing persons/search and rescue cases, assist neighboring agencies, and continue proactive narcotics enforcement throughout the county.

K-9 teams are among the most valuable and versatile assets in modern law enforcement. These highly trained partners assist in locating missing persons, apprehending dangerous suspects, detecting narcotics, and improving deputy safety in high-risk situations. In many cases, the presence of a K-9 alone can help de-escalate potentially dangerous encounters, protecting both community members and law enforcement.

Contributions directly support:                                                                                     

• The purchase and specialized training and ongoing training of the K-9s
• Necessary cruiser outfitting and equipment
• Protective gear and detection tools
• Veterinary care and long-term health needs
• Food, home kennel facilities for the handler, supplement care

• Any other expenses related to the program

We would be honored and we are deeply grateful for contributions of any size. Every dollar brings us one step closer to strengthening public safety in Cheshire County and reaching our goal of $18,300. Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
