Community Development Block Grant Application

Cheshire County Commissioners will hold three consecutive public hearings on 1/7/2026 at 8:30am at 12 Court St, Keene, 2nd floor conference room, to hear public comment on two Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application proposals to the NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA). Up to $500,000 annually is available on a competitive basis for housing, public facilities, economic development, and emergency activities that directly benefit low- and moderate-income persons. Up to $750,000 can be applied for in the microenterprise technical assistance category. Up to $25,000 is available for feasibility study grants. The proposals to be considered include: 1. A proposed public facilities grant for $500,000 in CDBG funds. A portion of funds will be subgranted to the Keene Daycare Center and to support improvements to their childcare facility located at 86 Wood Street in Keene, NH. 2. A proposed microenterprise grant for up to $750,000 in CDBG funds. A portion of the funds will be sub-granted to one of more agencies to provide technical assistance and other services to low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs and small businesses. 3. Review and adoption of Cheshire County’s Residential Anti-displacement and Relocation Plan.
