Housekeeping / Floor Maintenance
Maplewood Nursing Home is looking for a FULL TIME individual to share the responsibilities of Housekeeping and Floor Maintenance
Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm, 40 hours a week Monday – Friday
Pay Rate: $17.30 (with additional $2.25 for shift differential)
Under the supervision of the Evening Supervisor and EVS Manager, responsible for performing housekeeping and floor maintenance activities at the Nursing Home, using specialized floor cleaning equipment and chemicals in order to maintain a clean, safe, and aseptic environment for residents, staff, and the public.
· Operates carpet extraction equipment, floor machines, burnishers, vacuums, and other battery operated related electrical equipment.
· Shampoos rugs and carpeting; strips floors, burnishes, and applies floor finishes.
· Reports needed supplies to supervisor.
· Maintains equipment daily in accordance to manufacturers’ specifications; cleans and reports any damage to supervisor.
· Operates and maintains departmental equipment in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner.
· Uses chemicals and supplies according to department standards to ensure safety and efficiency.
· May perform duties in housekeeping or laundry, as directed by supervisor which include, cleaning of resident’s rooms, bathrooms, corridors, common areas, trash removal and dusting.
Duties require knowledge of housekeeping services and floor maintenance equivalent to completion of one to two years of high school. Proficiency to become competent in the essential responsibilities takes up to one year.
Previous experience working with a variety of housekeeping industry type equipment.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate routine information.
Knowledge of floor maintenance practices in maintaining floor cleanliness and good order.
