Cheshire County Commissioner Terry Clark Named to National Environment, Energy and Land Use Policy Steering Committee
KEENE, N.H. – Terry Clark, Chair of the Cheshire County Board of Commissioners, has been appointed to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Environment, Energy and Land Use Policy Steering Committee. The nomination was confirmed by NACo President George Dunlap.
NACo’s policy steering committees shape the association’s positions on federal legislation and regulation, and Congress and federal agencies regularly turn to NACo for the county perspective on policy decisions being made in Washington, D.C. As a member of the Environment, Energy and Land Use Policy Steering Committee, Commissioner Clark will help develop NACo’s positions on issues including energy policy, environmental protection, and land use, and will bring the experience of New Hampshire’s rural counties to that national conversation.
“Counties are where energy and environmental policy meets everyday life, whether that is the resilience of our infrastructure, the stewardship of our land and water, or the cost of keeping the lights on for the people we serve,” said Clark. “I am honored to represent Cheshire County and to make sure the voice of rural New Hampshire is heard when these decisions are shaped in Washington.”
Committee membership includes participation in monthly national conference calls with county officials from across the country, as well as attendance at NACo’s two major gatherings: the 2027 Legislative Conference, February 19-22 in Washington, D.C., and the 2027 Annual Conference, July 23-26 in Chatham County/Savannah, Georgia.
