CDBG Public Hearings – Harper Acres Housing Development and Hundred Nights, Inc. – 12/07/22 @8:30 AM

PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on December 7, 2022 at 8:30 AM. to discuss and hear public comment on two proposed applications for funding by the County of Cheshire from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) for federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. CDBG funds are awarded to municipalities and counties on a competitive basis in New Hampshire for housing, public facilities and economic development projects which have primary benefit to low- and moderate-income individuals. The maximum grant award is $500,000 for each eligible category.

To provide additional funding for projects impacted by cost overruns, CDFA has made approximately $1,500,000 of CDBG funds and $500,000 of CDBG-CV funds available statewide under the CDBG Gap Fund program for currently active CDBG projects. The first proposed application is for Monadnock Affordable housing Corporation in amount of $400,000. This is in support of renovations to the Harper Acres housing development facility located at 105 Castle Street in Keene. The second application is for Hundred Nights, Inc in amount of $357,870, and is for construction of a new shelter and crisis facility at 122-124 Water Street in Keene.
