Cheshire County UNH Cooperative Extension is part of a nationwide education program established in 1914.  It is a cooperative effort sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture, the land grant colleges, state and local government, and citizens.

The basic mission of the Cooperative Extension is to help people help themselves and assist them in making informed decisions about their own resources and lifestyles.   This is accomplished in New Hampshire by:

• Providing educational assistance in agriculture, forestry, 4-H youth development, home economics, and expanded food and nutrition from professional Extension educators located in each county in New Hampshire.

• Extending the resources of the University of New Hampshire to your home community.

• Encouraging the application of practical research-based, timely information to improve your daily life.

• Grass roots planning and support through local advisory groups.
